Jazzy Strings

 At the Hop

 In the Nutcracker Mood

The Jazz is Back!

This show is one of my favorites. I love the music and know that you will too!

“Jazzy Strings”  is a wonderful mixture of puppetry and the music of the early 20th century. Each piece of Big Band, Dixieland and Ragtime music seem to have been written just for the puppet that performs to it. Katrina flies on her trapeze to George Gershwin’s wonderful “Rhapsody in Blue”; a special Hula Dancer teams up with Spike Jones and his “Hawaiian War Chant” and Mr. Bones falls apart when he hears Scott Joplin’s fabulous Ragtime.  “When the Saints Go Marching In” everyone will have a great time.

Note to Teachers: Check out the Teachers Guide Page for more information about puppetry and Early Jazz.

Available January thru November 2019

p-and-m At The Hop

Remember these novelty Rock & Roll Characters? “The Purple People Eater” and the Martians from “The Martian Hop”

Mountain Marionettes takes a step back to the time of poodle skirts, bobby socks and saddle shoes. This production includes audience participation as well as some of your favorite marionette variety acts.  I know that you will recognize all the music, even if you didn’t run home every afternoon to watch American Bandstand or be part of the Peanut Gallery.

Available till Thanksgiving 2018

Santa1In The Nutcracker Mood

Mountain Marionettes’ holiday production brings you many of your favorite holiday songs such as Spike Jones’ “All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth”, and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” performed by beautifully crafted marionettes. The trick marionettes, always an integral part of Mountain Marionettes’ productions, perform to a very special rendition of The Nutcracker by the incomparable Glenn Miller Orchestra.

Note to Teachers: Check out the Teachers Guide Page for more information about puppetry, Glenn Miller, Early Jazz and the arts.

Available November thru December 22, 2018

The EverAfter Chronicles
The Frog Prince

Once upon a time, in a faraway land a Prince was turned into a Frog by an evil, bad tempered witch. The only way he could return to his handsome self was to persuade a real Princess to willingly kiss him full on the lips.

Would you kiss a slimy, green frog?

Available January thru November.
